Dr. Filutowski

Pictured here is the world famous pioneer of LASIK vision correction, Dr. Filutowski. He has such a charming and fun-loving personality. Not to mention a pioneer in his field. Pretty cool.

This was a mock studio set-up at his Lake Mary facility. We also did a very high tech shot with the LASIK machine. The room was completely white. But once I got to work with my lights and gels it turned out to be exactly what their head of marketing wanted. She specifically told me to make it as colorful as my other work. During mid shoot we were checking out photos on the laptop. They LITERALLY screamed with pleasure at the LASIK room set-up. I so rock!

But I don't rock alone. I have to thank my AMAZING assistant, Mat. You are by far the most professional, HARD WORKING and personable assistant I have ever used. Thanks for helping to make this shoot run smooth.

When the shoot was over I rushed back to the studio to unpack EVERYTHING. Then I proceeded to Borders to pick up Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I just finished it and have to say, not my fave. Oh well. As previously mentioned that infamous Rolling Stones song comes to mind.

Will's Pub

Will's Pub

For a very very long time Will's Pub has been one of the best places in town to check out local bands. I personally like it better than the Social - but what do I know. I know a lot actually, however that is not the topic of this blog. Oh how I digress.... His place is getting the boot from Florida Hospital. Apparently there are more sick people than people who want to see live shows and drink a draft beer. Priorities - GEEZ!

Will was slightly rude to me with a backhanded comment of "that pretty diamond ring barely goes with your studded bracelet." Perhaps it wasn't meant the way I took it but crap man, I am about to start my period! Blood is going to start gushing out of my vagina any day now. The PMS is driving my husband crazy...don't piss me off. For the record I didn't pick out this ring, I didn't have any say in its choosing, I didn't know my boyfriend of 7 years was even planning on giving me one. I love my ring because of what it means by the person that gave it to me...even if it clashes with my studs and leather!

In closing...get to Will's to see a show before its gone for good. And if you go let me know when and you can buy me a beer - LOL!

Cute Camera Boy

Cute Camera Boy
Originally uploaded by brookpifer.
When I was at Will's, this young novice photographer boy came up to a group of future rock stars. They were getting photos taken - WHOO HOO! The photographer boy (nope, didn't get his name) was so cute. His teeny tiny camera bag reminded me of my first camera bag. Small enough to hold a little 35mm camera and one roll of film. His FILM camera reminded me of my very first camera, Canon AE-1. My awesome parents bought it for me Christmas 1993. I listened to him snap a few photos and recalled the sound a manual film camera makes...so drastically different from my bad ass D2X. Not different bad, but just different. Like my Dad always says, different is good! I think Arby's stole that trademark line from him.

Anywhoo, the photographer boy was nice enough to let me capture a moment in his life. That moment I photographed reminded me of just how far I've come and how much further I plan to go. About a year ago I got a fortune cookie that said: Allow yourself time- you will reach success. Then a few months ago the fortune cookie that came with my sushi gave me a more proactive message: YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WANT - GET TO WORK TO MAKE IT MATERIALIZE. Everyday of my life I read both fortunes and do just that!
